Seafood Processing Industry: Rizhao is an important production base for marine and fresh water products with capacity of 500,000-600,000t/a. The main markets are Japan, Korea, Europe and America . Now there are many large marine production enterprises in Rizhao from Japan and Korea. The annual exported seafood value is above USD200 million.
Vegetable Processing Industry: Rizhao can produce over 2 million tons of vegetables annually. Main products includes garlic, ginger, asparagus, cucumber, pepper, mushroom, Chinese chestnut, great burdock, romaine lettuce etc.
Peanut Processing Industry: Rizhao can produce more than 200,000 tons of peanuts yearly with over 10 processing producers. It is planned to become a peanut processing and export-oriented base.
Stone-material Processing Industry: Rizhao has rich resources of granite and marble. The storage capacity having been recovered is 5 billion m3. With a yearly processing capability of about 5 million m3. Rizhao plans to be the biggest base for stone material producing, processing and exporting industry in ShandongProvince.
Tea Processing Industry: There are 120,000 mu tea field and more than 10 large tea processing producers in Rizhao nowwith a yearly production of 4000 tons. Rizhao has developed into the biggest base of tea field and tea products in Northern Yangtze River.
Silk Processing Industry: Rizhao has 140,000 mu mulberry field with an annual silkworm capacity of nearly 10,000 tones and 1,200 tones silk product exported. Rizhao has designated to develop as the biggest silk production and processing base in ShandongProvince.
Cement Industry: The storage capacity of limestone in Rizhao is above 3.42 billion tons, which can produce the best quality limestone and the largest deposit in Northern China. It has designated to develop Rizhao as the biggest cement producing and exporting base in ShandongProvince.
